The city often considered as "The most beautiful in the world" is more than 1700 years old. Due to the fact that the Roman emperor Diocletian has chosen that place to build his mansion, Split became one of the most famous cities in the Mediterranean.

The town is under UNESCO protection and it is also a part of the World Cultural Heritage register. Split is located in the center of the Adriatic coast. Split has numerous cultural and historical attractions. Night life takes place in many restaurants, clubs and discotheques. The famous city walk called ''Riva'' is a seaboard that goes along the south walls of Diocletian's Palace. It is a favorite gathering place for citizens and visitors to the city. Split is the second largest city in Croatia and an important port for tourist transfer toward the Croatian islands and Italy.
